We never realized how fun and convenient it is to have computer access in the kitchen / family room area until our laptop was placed in service for repairs. This laptop connects to our internal network using Wireless-G connection. Since it took a while for the laptop to get repaired, watching TV or just about our "normal" kitchen / family room experience drastically changed.
We spend most of our times together in the family room to watch movies, tv or in the kitchen preparing food or lunch for the following day. Without internet access when the laptop was in repair, life was not the same. So I decided to put a more permanent solution in the place where the laptop used to sit.
