Steve's Bar-N-Grill

October 6, 2007

The building of this outdoor bar/theater area is a joint effort of my cousin Andy
and myself. We started building this early last year i think, and slowly made
changes and upgrades to it. Now it has come to a point where it is useable.

It is still far from being finish, but atleast today we can show movies, boxing
fights, and childrens shows when we want to. I have installed coverings for the
oversized windows and can get the theater area dark enough to be able to use the
projector. However, it is best to use the theater at dusk, when the day starts
to darken. The theater is directly behind the bar area. The bar is directly facing
the swimming pool area.

This bar is constantly in use, especially when my cousins are over the house, we
spend long afternoons together here at the bar and when the temperature is right,
the swimming pool is also a welcome recreation.

Pacquiao vs. Barrera

My friend Lowie and I decided that we would host the pay-per-view fight between the
Filipino boxer Pacquiao and Mexican figther Barrera in the theater. We made plans
and i made the invitations. We invited mostly people from my place of employment.

To ensure we won't have a problem watching/ordering the show, we pre-ordered the
show a week before October 6th. I wired the projector from our HD cable box in the
family room. Sound is pumped from my JVC receiver and a mixture of Sony (main),
Yamaha (center), and Infinity (surround) speakers. Bass is handled by an inexpensize
KLH subwoofer which is suffice enough to my surprise for this open air theater.

My friends came, the bar was stocked with various types of alcohol. We also had
our carnitas grill out in the open, along with nachos, and ceviche appetizers.
Some people wanted to swim in the pool but it was just too cold, i did not heat
up the pool for this event.

I fired up the firepit and the outdoor heater. Inside the theater was a little cozy
because I had all the windows closed, so there was no cold wind blowing inside the
theater. Most of the time we watch from the TV at the bar, but for the main event,
we watched the fight at the big screen.

Thank you Lowie, thank you Andy, and everyone who came and help!
