Shooting range with my cousin

11-June-2008

My cousin Paul invited Joy and I to an indoor shooting range. I haven't been to a shooting  range in ages, last time i ever fired a gun was probably 10 years ago. I was excited, but  Joy was not too ecstatic at the idea of firing a gun.

The shooting range was home made by my cousins friend Randy and his dad. The motorized targets  were rigged with pulleys and motors, complete with forward and reverse control switches. Randy  was very courteous. And he gave me quick lessons on small arms  aiming and firing positions. After a few rounds with the Gloc, I was able to hit the target  at 10 meters range. Joy did not fire a single weapon, she said that maybe next time she will  try. When my other cousin Loyam arrived, she gave Joy a ride back to Pauls house while we  continued with our target practice. My cousin Loyam also brought his own Colt MK4 (Super 38 caliber) gun. He let me shoot  a round from his gun also.

Later Pauls best friend Ken Solon also came. He brought his own gun and let me try it out also.  I was also able to try Pauls shotgun a few times. Man, the shotgun really makes a great kick!  About an hour later, the vice-governor of Sarangani, Steve Solon also arrived along with his body guards. The  vice-governor had an arsenal of weapons. I was able to try one of his assualt rifle.

It is important to remember that guns are not toys. They should be kept out of reach from  children. One mistake with guns and the repercussion can be fatal.
DO NOT PLAY WITH GUNS!

We also visited my uncles farm. Paige was so amazed to see so many goats in one place.  Tiyo Didi also threw a party for us. I got to meet my other cousins and Tiyo Boy also.  As always Tiyo Didi had alot of food for us. We had a mini-reunion there. We only have  one picture taken and that was with a camera phone. I still need to ask Pauline for a copy.
